What kind of food is served?

Savor delicious meals crafted from local ingredients, offering you a true taste of Norway. Food service includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and snacks throughout the day. The food served onboard is sourced as locally as possible, providing the best quality without too many food miles! Traditional Norwegian cuisine is based largely on the raw materials readily available in the mountains, wilderness and coast. Many of the dishes are the result of what is possible to source considering the the long winters and remoteness of the Arctic region. Most dietary restrictions can be accommodated if notified in advance. ​

 

The typical Norwegian breakfast consists of a slice of bread with a variety of sweet and savory spreads with coffee. Modern Norwegian cuisine has been influenced by globalization so a typical lunch includes foods such as soups, pasta, pizza, BBQ and burgers with a local flare. Norwegian dinners typically include carbohydrate and protein-rich foods such as potatoes, meat and fish. Norwegian desserts combine fresh, delicious forest fruits, cream, and fresh baked desserts with ice cream.

Our crew consists of our Sea Captain, First Mate and Stew/Cook, all committed to delivering an exceptional sailing experience. They consistently exceed expectations by offering a first-class, professional, yet relaxed atmosphere. Each crew member is reliable, honest, and attentive, treating every guest as a unique individual. On our luxury sailing yacht, expect a crew that is always impeccable, respectful, and eager to assist, ensuring competence in all their duties. We pride ourselves on providing essential services, including safe transportation, gourmet cooking, and meticulous cleaning. You can rely on timely service, ample provision of your needs, and pristine cleanliness throughout your journey. Our crew members are situated in separate quarters at the aft of the vessel, ensuring your privacy and comfort.

What does the itinerary include?

Our Ski and Sail tour offers a unique blend of sailing through the stunning fjords of Tromsø and thrilling ski experiences on Arctic slopes. Each day, you'll embark on a new skiing adventure, exploring different locations based on weather conditions and your group's experience levels. Evenings are spent aboard our comfortable yacht, where you can unwind and enjoy the hot tub, good food, and spacious lounging areas.

 

What activities are included during the trip?

The primary activity is backcountry skiing on pristine Arctic mountains. You'll also have the opportunity to sail through scenic fjords, spot local wildlife, and experience the Northern Lights. Additional activities may include exploring quaint coastal villages, depending on weather and group interests.

 

What type of accommodations can we expect?

Experience ultimate comfort aboard our fully equipped yacht, featuring three guest cabins designed for two guests each with single beds. All cabins are equipped with spacious closets, adjustable heating, a ceiling window, warm duvets, linens and towels. Enjoy shared showers and toilets with toiletries such as shampoo, conditions, bodywash, q-tips and a hair dryer, along with a spacious interior boasting high ceilings. Relax in our welcoming lounging and dining areas, or take in the stunning views from two exterior decks. Unwind in our outdoor hot tub after an exhilarating day on the slopes. This warm and inviting setting is perfect for relaxation and enjoyment throughout your trip.

 

What safety measures are in place for skiing in the Arctic? 

Your safety is our top priority. Our trips are guided by experienced ski instructors and mountain guides who are well-versed in Arctic conditions. We monitor weather forecasts closely and adjust plans as needed to ensure safe skiing conditions. All guests will be familiarized with ample safety briefings.

 

Are there any fitness or skill level requirements?

Participants should have an intermediate or advanced level of skiing ability and a reasonable level of fitness, as the trip involves backcountry skiing in remote areas. If you're unsure about your skill level, feel free to reach out to us for guidance. Our guides are very accommodating and can tailor the experience to suit different ability levels.

What should I pack for the trip?

Essential items include warm, waterproof ski gear, thermal layers, gloves, and a hat. Don't forget sunscreen and sunglasses to protect against the sun's reflection on the snow. We recommend bringing a daypack for personal items and any special toiletries you might need. Be sure to pack in a duffle type bag as space is limited onboard for big hard shell suitcases. We'll provide you with a detailed packing list upon booking.

Is there drinking water onboard?

Absolutely! We provide drinking water onboard, sourced from the pristine Arctic mountains of Northern Norway. Renowned for its purity, this local tap water is among the cleanest in the world, ensuring a refreshing and delightful experience for our guests.

What language is spoken onboard?

English and Norwegian. Some of our crew may speak other languages, but translation services are not provided.

The price per guest is regardless of age.

How many people do you need to run the tour?

We require a minimum of 6 guests. If the minimum is not reached, we may contact you to reschedule or cancel for full refund.
